Gigi is the new Zlatan

Friday 5th, Spatziba will go show the world what soccer is all about. No problem with tackling Gigi, Nicolas, Austin and the rest of the Nike team, we'll for sure do our best to bring the Rüf FC Cup back home and be crowned champions. Get ready for it!

Why such a tournament though?? Because Gigi has his new boot coming out! It's called the Gigi Rüf Nike Zoom Kaiju QS. I wish I could play soccer with it.

Gigi’s passion for football and his hometown club SC Bregenz in particular has been the starting point of inspiration for this project. Add Nike’s Mercurial Vapor football boot to the mix and you’ll get one of the most technically advanced snowboard boots out in the market. Not sure it will save him from our tackles and Zidan-esque headbutts.

To celebrate the release, Nike Snowboarding has joined forces with the X Double store from Innsbruck to create a five-a-side football tournament: The Rüf FC Cup. On November 5 a real football pitch will arise in front of the X Double store allowing the finest of the European snowboard industry to show their football skills and challenge Gigi, Nicolas Müller, Austin Smith and the rest of the Nike Snowboarding crew to a game. And for sure kick their asses.

The boot will be available at selected Nike Snowboarding dealers worldwide from November 19, 2010. X Double will have an early release of the boot on November 5.
