Danko Jones – Full of Regret
Last week Danko Jones video Full of Regret was premiered. Directed by the Diamond Brothers and featuring Selma Blair, Elijah Wood, Mike Watts and Lemmy Kilmister, I had to ask the obvious question: how was this possible? Here’s Danko and JC filling in the blanks.

The new Danko Jones album Below the Belt has just been released – prepare to be blown away. I met up with Danko and JC in Stockholm the other week to get some thoughts on a few topics, so here’s a first clip of them putting things into perspective.

OZ – The Beast is Still Breathing
When it comes to the origins of Scandinavian metal, Finnish band OZ no doubt played a crucial part. In 1983 they released the now classic album Fire in the Brain, which in 1984 was followed by the 12” maxi single Turn the Cross Upside Down – a release that yielded the even sum of 666 SEK on the first royalty cheque. Speaking to the drummer Mark Ruffneck the other day, he told me the seasons in darkness are over. The band is reformed and currently recording songs for a new album with the working title Greatest Blitz.

A good movie, indeed, but I was surprised to realize that the soundtrack – including The Church and Joy Division among others – was almost identical to the music that back in the day escorted me and my friends through our rites of passage.

Explosives
A video for all of you kids who thought rock and explosives started with Kiss and Iron Maiden – here’s The Who performing My Generation (and the rumour is that this particular segment actually triggered Pete Townshend’s permanent hearing loss).
