Alexander - Alexander
The Alex behind the mask of Edward, Alex Ebert, frontman of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, just released a solo album and for those already fans, your future lies in being pleased and gentle-fied.
Banging around in his bedroom, Alex Ebert 'threw together' his debut solo album, an appendage of Edward Sharpe. As opposed to "Up From Below" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, "Alexander" is more personal and held in the here and now. Ebert sat down for a near 40-minute interview pulling together a pretty complete trajectory of his life, from being a toddler of fisticuffs (adopted from his abusive cleaning woman), to his 'love affair' with NWA, to a spindling dance with ecstasy and heroin, and eventually achieving enlightenment and true presence through music. He's a really inspired dude and the interview is worth the watch, especially if you're a fan. Or if you're not, watch it and maybe you will be. The interview is in 7 parts and part one is below. You should be able to continue the link with the end of each video. Also, an acoustic version of the first song on the album "Let's Win!" from the same interview and another track "Truth."
