Art In The Streets
The Art in the streets exhibition at the MoCA in L.A. has been getting a lot of exposure and heat lately, and rightly so. The fact that one of the biggest museums brings graffiti and street art within the walls of the building and legitimizes it as art for sure pisses a lot of people off. And inspires even more.
This movie trailer pretty much sums up what the show is about.
One thing that is really cool about this show to me is that skateboarding is taking a huge place in the exhibition with names like Ed Tempelton, Gonz, Spike Jonze, Hugh Holland etc. It's nice to see that it's been recognized as such a big part of youth culture.
This exhibition is one of the most inspirational I have ever been to. Here's some photos I took while I was there

Kidult showed up and repainted JR's work at the main outside wall of the Museum.
